Wolmer’s, St Jago in top-of-the-table clash

St Jago High are set to host former champions Wolmer’s Boys’ in this afternoon’s top-of-the-table clash in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Manning Cup football Group G contest at Monk Street in Spanish Town.

Match time is set for 3:00 pm.

Wolmer’s and St Jago are tied on six points each from two games.

However, the Jerome Waite-coached Wolmer’s have the edge ahead of St Jago by virtue of their superior goal difference.

They are followed by Vauxhall High on four points, Donald Quarrie High and Papine High on three each and Ascot High on one.

Wolmer’s will enter Monday’s contest oozing with confidence, having defeated the previously unbeaten Vauxhall 4-2 at The Mico University last week. They also defeated Donald Quarrie 6-3 in the opening match of the competition.

The Heroes’ Circle-based institution will be depending heavily on the likes of Addon Adye, Jayden Walters, Nathaniel Brooks and Dante Dacres to lead their charge.

On the other hand, St Jago, who are playing well in the competition this season, are coming off a 3-1 victory over Donald Quarrie. They had defeated Papine 3-0 in their opening match of the campaign.

MONDAY’S GAMES

•Jonathan Grant vs Dunoon @ Jonathan Grant

•Donald Quarrie vs Ascot @ Harbour View Stadium

•St Jago vs Wolmer’s Boys’ @ St Jago
