Man charged after firearm reportedly found under his house
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A man has been charged after a pistol containing several rounds of ammunition were reportedly found under his home in Whitehall, Negril, Westmoreland on Friday.
Charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition is 24-year-old labourer Rick Grayson.
Reports are that about 11:15 pm, lawmen were conducting a joint police/military operation in the area when Grayson was seen walking along the roadway.
On seeing the police team, he ran to the back of a house. He was pursued, caught and searched.
A search of the area was conducted and during the search one Glock17 pistol with a magazine containing three 9mm rounds of ammunition was found under the house he occupied.
Following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney, he was charged.
