Marsha-Lee Hutchinson

IN the world of wellness and beauty, few stories are as inspiring and heart-warming as that of Marsha-Lee Hutchinson. A 31-year-old physiotherapist, she has embarked on a remarkable journey to redefine the standard of care for individuals battling cancer. Through her passion for creativity and an unwavering commitment to her patients, she has become a beacon of hope for those facing the challenging landscape of cancer treatments.

A creative beginning

“Creativity has always been a part of my life,” Hutchinson reflects. Her path to becoming an oncology aesthetics specialist began in her rural hometown of St Mary, where her creative endeavours took root at a young age. From painting and drawing to crafting candles and sewing, her imagination flourished. Her early experiences set the stage for a life dedicated to fostering creativity and ultimately, improving the lives of others.

Her journey into the world of oncology aesthetics was not planned, but rather driven by a personal struggle. “My battle with folliculitis was a turning point,” she confides. This struggle led her to explore natural remedies which, in turn, gave birth to her brainchild: The Epiphany: Beyond Body (www.tebbwellness.com). This mobile physiotherapy and skin rehab company focuses on providing comfort and care to those with underlying medical conditions, including cancer patients.

This chemo care kit can be gifted to someone that is going through chemotherapy.

Addressing the impact of cancer

Hutchinson saw first-hand the emotional toll that chronic illness and cancer treatments could have on her patients. “It’s not just about treating their physical symptoms,” she emphasises, “but also about addressing the psychological and emotional impact of the disease.”

This realisation ignited her determination to provide care beyond clinical settings, to offer her patients the tools to rebuild their confidence and self-esteem, and to feel good in their skin once more.

Empowering cancer warriors through oncology aesthetics

Oncology aesthetics is a specialised field that combines skincare and beauty treatments with a deep understanding of cancer, its treatment modalities, and the potential side effects. Hutchinson’s interest in this advanced field was ignited by the experiences of a close friend undergoing chemotherapy treatment after a breast cancer diagnosis. “Her story touched my heart deeply,” she shares. She also witnessed the struggles of the cancer survivors she administered physiotherapy to, and their collective cry for help to address the skin and nail changes that accompany cancer treatments.

Pursuing specialised training

To meet the unique needs of her patients, Hutchinson pursued specialised training in oncology aesthetics at an international multidisciplinary institution for oncology care. This training equipped her with the knowledge and skills required to provide tailored services to cancer patients. “I was excited to embark on this journey,” she recalls, “and passionate about the comprehensive training. It was what I needed to better serve my patients’ needs.”

Restoring confidence and promoting wholesome beauty

For Hutchinson, the mission is clear: To help cancer warriors regain their hope, confidence, and a sense of well-being during their treatment journey. “The focus is on restoring a sense of normalcy,” she emphasises.

Oncology aesthetics offers specialised skincare and nail care services designed to address the unique challenges faced by cancer patients. From skin sensitivities to discolouration, these treatments soothe and promote healing, maintainance of healthy nails, and prevention or management of nail changes that may occur.

Her journey into oncology aesthetics represents a ray of hope for those battling cancer. The ongoing dedication to providing comfort and confidence to cancer warriors is a testament to the transformative power of compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to holistic well-being.
