Anthony Thomas wins first race at Gulfstream Park

FORMER Jamaican champion jockey Anthony Thomas won his first international race on Saturday, October 28, 2023 when he rode Art Show Lady to victory in the 11th and final event at Gulfstream Park in Florida, United States.

Art Show Lady won a maiden claiming race over five and a half furlongs for two-year-old maiden fillies. The Rohan Crichton trainee easily won the race by 6 1/2 lengths at the finish in 1:04.81.

Thomas settled Art Show Lady off the pace while running two wide. Thomas then swung Art Show Lady five wide approaching the quarter pole before picking up the lead in midstretch. Art Show Lady then drew off under a drive to win easily ahead of Isayso (Cipriano Gil) and Pleasant Embrace (Hector Diaz).
