CTOC detains two, seizes gun and vehicle in Clarendon operation
CLARENDON, Jamaica – Two men were detained following the seizure of an illegal firearm on the Chapleton main road in Clarendon Sunday afternoon.
The arrest and seizure followed a special operation carried out by detectives from the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch (CTOC).
It was reported that around 1:20 pm, the detectives went to the Chapleton main road where they signalled a white Toyota Probox to stop.
The driver complied and the vehicle was searched. During the search, police said, a black Kel Tec 9-millimetre pistol, two magazines and three 9-millimetre rounds were found inside.
The firearm, ammunition and the vehicle were seized.
Both suspects, one of whom is a taxi driver and the other a farmer, were detained and escorted to the May Pen Police Station for further processing.
