KINGSTON, Jamaica – Arnett Gardens rebounded from their loss to rivals Tivoli Gardens last week by beating Montego Bay United 3-1 in their Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League game played at Arnett on Sunday evening.

The win saw Arnett Gardens move up to third place in the points table on eight points from five games. The game was originally set to be played in Montego Bay but was moved to Kingston because of the SOE that is in place in St James.

Shai Smith scored an early brace to give Arnett Gardens some space, converting a penalty in the 11th minute before adding a second goal in the 19th minute.

Kimani Arbouine scored in the 55th minute for Arnett Gardens to take a 3-0 lead before Brazilian Jean Claudio Rios Ferreira pulled one goal back in the 69th minute from the penalty spot for MBU who were losing their second game of the season.

The competition continues on Monday evening with a double-header at the Stadium East complex, Tivoli Gardens facing Humble Lion in the opening game set for 5:00 pm followed by Waterhouse against Vere United.
