Vaughn Cameron, Kelé produce With You
Music producer Vaughn Cameron teamed up with recording artiste Kelé to produce what is described as a multi-genre track titled With You.
Produced under his Music 2 Di Soul Production Ltd label, the track was officially released on September 29.
“The song gives off a lover’s rock/roots reggae feel. [It’s] very catchy… allowing listeners to connect with one of Jamaica’s authentic cultural genres,” the producer told the Jamaica Observer.
Since its release the track has been gaining positive feedback, with it being touted as a potential hit.
Being a first-time collaboration between the producer and the artiste it can definitely be said that the result has been a success.
“As a multi-instrumentalist, I zone into what I think the people want to hear and what is missing from our today’s music and start working from there. From there, based on the feel, I sometimes incorporate other instrumentalists for a different vibe or sound, so that all the tracks don’t sound the same,” the producer added.
Describing his style as soul reggae, Cameron is an all-rounder who aims to have sincere meaning in all his productions.
“What makes my productions stand out is the soulfulness lyrically and the clean live instrumentation,” he expressed.
Currently based in Canada, the producer still stays true to his Jamaican roots, which shows in the sound of his music.
One artiste he’s worked with on several tracks is gospel artiste Noreta Lewis-Prince, among them Trust In You, Story and Be Glorified.
The producer has a few collaborations with his brother Corden Barrett from Heavy Unit Production in the works.
For Kelé’s part, she noted that she is aiming for endless possibilities where her career is concerned.
“As I go forward in my career, I want to become an established artiste to share my music and outlook with people both locally and internationally,” she said.
With this first single on the airwaves, the singer said she is busy in the recording booth working on other pending projects.
“At the moment, I’m working on writing and releasing more good music and building my platform. I love reggae music, but I also indulge in different genres of music, including jazz and pop, so you can look out for what’s next,” the artiste continued.
