Phillip Parchment, president of the Jockeys’ Guild, has become the latest ambassador for the brand iCool, marking the fifth jockey to sign with a corporate company this year.

Currently ranked 7th in the jockey standings with 29 wins, Parchment is set to ride I Am Fred in the Mouttet Mile on Saturday, with seven race days remaining for 2023.

Parchment now joins four others who signed earlier this year, with Javaneil Patterson, Reyan Lewis, and Tevin Foster with TruShake, and Dane Dawkins with 876 Water being the other jockeys.

Meanwhile, Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), the operators of Caymanas Park, have announced their partnership with iCool Water and Drinks. This collaboration reflects Caymanas Park’s commitment to diversify offerings and enhance the overall horse racing experience for patrons.

Solomon Sharpe, SVREL executive chairman, expressed his satisfaction with the new sponsorship deal, emphasising the growing recognition of horse racing as a valuable product for corporate brands. He thanked iCool for their endorsement, viewing it as a positive step towards making Caymanas Park the entertainment hub of the Caribbean.

“LASCO’s decision to invest in Caymanas Park as a sponsor means a lot to us as it demonstrates that more corporate brands are recognising the value of horse racing as a product. It is a good signal that our ongoing mission to make Caymanas Park the entertainment hub of the Caribbean is progressing well,” said Sharpe.

“We thank LASCO for this tacit endorsement of the moves that SVREL is making at Caymanas Park and we hope it inspires other companies to come onboard and contribute to developing the sustainability of horseracing in Jamaica,” he said.

As part of this partnership, iCool will introduce innovative branding initiatives at Caymanas Park and an endorsement deal with one of the top 10 jockeys.
