Draw pushes Boys Club up points ladder
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Montego Bay Boys Club (MBBC) moved off the foot of the points table in Zone B of the St James Football Association/Sandals Resorts International Major League, after playing out a 1-1 draw against 10-man Irwin United at UDC field on Friday.
MBBC came from an early goal down to earn the point, their first on the field in two seasons, and moved up to third place in the tables on four points.
After losing all 12 games played last season MBBC were awarded points from their game against Cambridge United but had lost their two previous games played, until Friday.
Meanwhile, it was the first point for Irwin United who were also beaten in their first two games played and are at the foot of the points tables with one point.
Detroy Reid gave Irwin United the lead in the second minute when he scored from the penalty spot, his second goal of the season.
Neville Williams answered for Boys Club when he scored in the 18th minute.
Irwin United finished the game with 10 players after Ronaldo Blackwood was sent off for violent conduct.
