‘The Ultimate Brunch Party’

Come December 10, D Lux Complex (formerly Gee Wee Car Park), on Caledonia Avenue, will come alive with the exciting sights, tastes and sounds of Tropical Bliss, ‘The Ultimate Brunch Party’.

The food-inclusive event series was conceived from friends coming together in pursuit of more exquisite entertainment to enjoy good ambience and great vibes.

“We saw the need, the want, to enjoy ourselves in this fashion more; hence, my cousin [Daneil Robinson] and I decided to keep one of our own,” shared co-organiser Ricardo Murphy.

For the first two stagings, the group comprised Robinson, Murphy, and Devroy Williams; however, Murphy told the Jamaica Observer, that: “One of our friends joined the group since year, Cory Samuels.”

The quartet now aims to make Tropical Bliss truly ‘The Ultimate Brunch Party’ for an all-encompassing fun experience.

The party series has grown with each staging, as such the organisers hope to continue raising the bar and claim its place on the annual calendar of events, adding a third instalment to the existing two annually.

Murphy explained: “We initially started out in the backyard of a mutual friend. We decorated the place for patrons to feel welcome. Now we’re renting bigger venues to keep our event. We started with roughly 100 patrons, now we are hosting 400 patrons. So our aim is to continue with the growth and continue to gain sponsorships.”

He thanked the on-board sponsors all while being confident that others will soon join the fraternity.

Jade-Ann Campbell (left) and Monique Thompson enjoy the party vibes at a recent Tropical Bliss.

“Catherine’s Peak, Rainforest Seafood, Pure National Ice, and She Has Entered Clothing Company are our sponsors, now we looking to seek more sponsors so we can continue to make the event one which our patrons can and will always talk about. We also have partners who helped us to carry out our execution,” he said.

The organisers say they have worked to make the upcoming event a cut above all others.

“What makes us unique from other brunch parties is that we listen to our patrons. Hence, they asked us for a bigger venue, therefore, we will deliver on that… Our brunch menu has evolved, so more food for our patrons. As well as we craftily hand-picked our DJs. This edition will be diverse in all genre of music. We will also have a special guest appearance at this staging,” confirmed Murphy.

Already billed for the line-up are DJ MadDawg, DJ Champy, Javvy Supreme, and Bunny Mental G-Hype.

With early plans already in train to take the event to the US and Canada, the organisers are en route to making Tropical Bliss a go-to event for locals and internationals.

“Come out and experience the ultimate brunch party,” encouraged Murphy, “there’s nothing else like it.”
