Reggae Youths seek perfect first round
CAMBRIDGE, St James — Defending champions Reggae Youths will hope to end their first-round schedule in the St James Football Association/ Sandals Resorts International Major League with a perfect win record when they travel to face Cambridge United in a rescheduled top-of-the-table Zone B clash on Saturday.
The four games that are scheduled to be played on Saturday and Sunday were originally scheduled for last weekend but were pushed back to accommodate other rescheduled games.
Also today, Lilliput Rovers and Irwin United will meet at Irwin High while on Sunday, Wadada United FC and Granville United will meet as well as Green Pond SC and Heights FC.
Reggae Youths have won all three games played so far and are on nine points at the top of Zone B. They have three points more than Cambridge United who have won back-to-back games after losing points to Montego Bay Boys Club in the board room.
The teams shared a win each last season, and this game could go a far way in deciding the zone winner at the end of the regular season.
Reggae Youths player Shanoy Anderson has been on a tear so far this season and leads the competition with five goals, the same total the entire Cambridge United team has scored so far.
Also on Saturday, Lilliput Rovers will hope to rebound from their loss to Cambridge United when they visit Irwin United who are at the foot of the tables with one point.
Lilliput Rovers are on three points, from one win, while Irwin United are still hunting their first win in the competition.
