An American woman tragically died from a cardiac arrest while being operated on by her plastic surgeon husband, according to reports.

According to Mirror US, Hillary Brown, 33, tragically lost her life while undergoing work at Dr Ben Brown’s clinic in Florida on November 21. The surgeon is now under investigation for the death.

Dr Brown called 911 and began performing CPR on his partner, but she fell into a coma and was taken off life support a week later after it was determined she was brain dead. It is not known exactly what surgeries Hillary was getting at the time, but emergency call notes show a female patient was potentially being “overmedicated”.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jillian Durkin said that police “frequently [conduct] death investigations when the death was unexpected or the death occurs under unusual circumstances.”

Durkin added that the cause of Hillary’s death has not yet been established and they are awaiting autopsy results which could take several months.

Hillary’s father Marty Ellington described his daughter as “full of fire and energy,” before adding: “We want answers. We haven’t been given answers.

“If it’s a mistake, it was a mistake, but it doesn’t bring my daughter back, you know. I don’t want his money. I don’t want anything. All I want is an answer because I think that we owe that to my daughter.”

He said his daughter did enjoy being married to an award-winning plastic surgeon that could perform any number of surgeries on her whenever she liked.

In a social media post written on November 24 while his wife was still in a coma, Dr Brown wrote: “We need prayers for a miracle. Hillary had a cardiac arrest on Tuesday afternoon.”

“We called 911 and started CPR. Her heart came back but her brain is not doing well…Hillary Ellington Brown you are my soulmate, my world, my everything. Please come back. Please!”
