Three held after gun, ammo seizure in Clarendon
CLARENDON, Jamaica— Two women and a man were taken into police custody following the seizure of a firearm and ammunition at Longwood district in Race Course, Clarendon, Wednesday night.
The three were among five people who were intercepted in a vehicle, but two reportedly fled and escaped from the police.
It was reported that around 11:30 pm, a police team was conducting a spot check operation, when they noticed a grey Toyota Probox heading towards them, stopped and turned back.
The vehicle was intercepted, and two people reportedly fled. The remaining three were seen in the car. The vehicle was subsequently searched, and a Glock pistol with nine .40 rounds was found on the floor.
The three were subsequently taken into custody pending further investigation.
