Thegoodlife wins first race in 2024
Thegoodlife, trained by Cashbert Khawlsingh and ridden by Ramon Nepare, had the distinction of winning the first race in 2024.
Thegoodlife‘s win came in a three-year-old and upward Optional Claiming ($400,000-$300,000) event that included native-bred six-year-olds and upward (non-winners of four) and imported six-year-old and upward (non-winners of three) over 7 furlongs (1,400m).
The now six-year-old bay mare Thegoodlife won the race by 2 ¾ lengths in a time of 1:29.3.
Thegoodlife was recording his fourth career victory from 57 starts, bringing total earnings to over $3 million.
For Khwalsingh, the victory was a rousing kickoff to the season.
“Winning a race isn’t just about the glory,” he explained, “It’s the lifeblood that keeps the stables thriving, our primary objective.
“Taking home the first win of a fresh racing year may not shatter records, but it lays a solid foundation for the stables to build upon,” he said.
Last year, Khwalsingh only could managed three wins from a total of 86 starts.
