Sri Lanka opt to bowl in first T20 against Zimbabwe
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AFP)— Sri Lanka skipper Wanindu Hasaranga won the toss and elected to field in the first T20 international against Zimbabwe in Colombo on Sunday.
Sri Lanka’s former captain Angelo Mathews is back in the side, playing in his first T20 since March 20211.
For Zimbabwe, Sean Williams returns, having missed the ODI series due to injury, which Sri Lanka won 2-0.
Sri Lanka will be using the series as a preparation for the T20 World Cup in June in the United States and West Indies.
Zimbabwe are trying to revive their cricket after being knocked out of the T20 World Cup following their shock defeat to Uganda.
