National Baking Company last Monday officially unveiled plans to build out a new state-of-the-art baking facility in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, in the parish of St James. The project, which will cost $6.7 billion, will employ 75 highly skilled Jamaicans and help the company to meet demand for its products in the international market. Gary “Butch” Hendrickson, chairman of the National Baking Company, said it will be able to produce up to 3,600 loaves of bread per hour. Glen Christian (left), chairman of Cari-Med Limited, and Chris Zacca, president and CEO of Sagicor Group, were amongst the guests at the launch of the project by National Baking Company to build a new plant in western Jamaica.
