Amazing Force — the choice in competitive-looking Rimsky Trophy feature

Amazing Force — the choice in competitive-looking Rimsky Trophy feature

The
running of the $1.1-million Rimsky Trophy going over 6 furlongs (1,200m) is the main feature event on tomorrow’s nine-race schedule.

The Restricted Allowance II contest for native-bred three-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two) and imported three-year-olds and upward (maidens) has attracted a field of seven runners. And by all indications, the race should be decided by American-bred runners
Riches To Rags and
Amazing Force, both trained by Philip Feanny, and the Jason DaCosta-trained
Funcaandun.

Below, the
Jamaica Observer’s
The Supreme Racing Guide takes a close look at each runner and their chances of winning this trophy race.

1.
RICHES TO RAGS
(USA): (3 ch f by
Union Rags – Place des Vosges
) – Interestingly bred foreigner makes his debut here.
Riches to Rags has been going well in the mornings, but in the gallops, she has been playing fiddle to her stablemate
Amazing Force. Riches to Rags can open her account with a win here.

2.
LUCY IN THE SKY
(USA): (3 b f by
Liquidity – Tap Bay Yankee
) – The most experienced runner in the field, with six starts to her name.
Lucy In The Sky has not done anything since her maiden win on August 26, 2023 and so she is best left alone here.

3.
FUNCAANDUN
(USA): (3 b c by
Klimt – Fiftyshadesoffun
) – Nicely bred colt who also is out for the first time.
Funcaandun has been blazing a trail at exercise with his latest gallop being a decent 1:07.0 for 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) on Saturday, January 13. This highly rated colt could get off the mark right away.

4.
CLEOPATRA QUEEN
(USA): (3 b f by
St Patrick’s Day – Caribbean Queen
) – Finished fifth on debut behind
Princess Amahle over 6 furlongs on December 30, 2023. Little or no improvement is expected from
Cleopatra Queen here against these.

5. AMAZING FORCE (USA): (3 b c by
Leofric – White Wedding Day
) – Well built colt, who is also highly thought of at home.
Amazing Force, who is also making his debut here, has been training pretty well for this trophy race and is expected to fight to the finish here.

6.
OH SO SMART
: (3 ch f by
Soul Warrior – Patchwork
) – Made a successful debut at the races on December 10 of last year when winning over four furlongs (800m) in 49.3, pulling away from rivals.
Oh So Smart looks to have some ability, but it is going to be very difficult for her getting by the top three here.

7.
KD STROPNG
(USA): (4 ch f by
Wicked Strong – Corfe Castle
) – The only four-year-old in the line-up.
KD Strong showed signs of ability when finishing third behind
Anonymous and
Eazy Peazy over 7 furlongs (1,400m) on December 26, 2023.
KD Strong should not be disgraced here.
