For years, the proliferation and promotion of music by sound system selectors have been welcomed by artistes and music producers. Several songs have become hits thanks to the efforts of the sound system fraternity. Dancehall artiste Global X recognises the efforts of the sound systems on his latest single Clean and Fresh.

He believes that respect should be shown to selectors who continue to promote the music both locally and internationally.

“Well to be honest, their efforts are very important because without the song getting that circulation and push, that song may not be heard in the dance or the parties,” said Global X.

He added, “I was at the studio and the idea for the song just happened. The vibes and everything was just right. Most of the time selectors just play a song on their own because they like it or they appreciate the message behind the song.”

Clean and Fresh was produced by Worl Blast Music and Fire Sparkles Music. It was released in September last year.

For Global X, music hasn’t been an easy road.

“It’s not an easy road because at times you are going to face a lot of challenges,” said the deejay who is originally from August Town.

His love for music began at a young age and continued into his high school years.

“I have worked with Kyaatame Production, Worl Blast Music, Fire Sparkles Music, Jugubal Entertainment, Reggae Selector UK, Skellydan Records, Crown Heights Entertainment and Natty Gago Records among others,” he said.

Global X says he hopes to get the breakthrough in music that he craves and to also gain exposure globally for his musical contribution.
