Portland father and son facing gun, ammo charges

PORT ANTONIO, Jamaica — A father and son have been charged after a gun and several rounds of ammunition seized were found at a house they occupy in Portland.

Charged are 55-year-old mason Wilton Clarke, otherwise called “Sweetness”, and 26-year-old Odane Clarke, otherwise called ‘Shane’, a farmer of River’s View district in the parish.

The police report that on Tuesday, January 23, a search warrant was executed at the home, and a black 9mm Beretta pistol and one magazine containing ten 9mm cartridges and an empty magazine were found.

Both men were arrested and a question-and-answer interview was subsequently conducted with them in the presence of their attorney. They are set to face the Portland Parish Court.
