JSE, JDF Captain receive Rotary vocational services award

JSE, JDF Captain receive Rotary vocational services award

Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and Captain (Naval) Judy-Ann Neil, Colonel Adjutant Quartermaster, Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), were recipients of vocational service awards from the Rotary Club of Kingston East & Port Royal at a ceremony held at the National Housing Trust Club Overtime on January 29.

The JSE and Captain Neil, who has had a stellar career in the JDF, were recognised for significant advancement in their vocational field, exemplifying outstanding professional achievements while maintaining very high ethical standards.

The event was held in commemoration of Rotary International Vocational Services Month. The guest speaker was Leonard Williams, Director of the Jamaica Central Securities Depository Limited (JCSD).

Both the managing director of the JSE, Dr Marlene Street-Forrest, and Captain Neil are members of the Rotary Club of Kingston East & Port Royal.

“I am proud that both exemplary members have been recognized in such a manner by the Rotary Club of Kingston East & Port Royal. As a corporate member, the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has given outstanding support to the club, by offering their facilities to host club meetings and being a sponsor of various projects, including Minna Car Basic School; Bridgeview Early Childhood Development Centre and Camperdown High School Lab,” said Melissa Anderson, president of the Rotary Club of Kingston East & Port Royal.

“Captain Neil is the club’s director of membership and a major force in driving the membership growth and retention strategy, as well as building the inclusive and dynamic club culture we enjoy,” Anderson added.

Also at the ceremony, three new members were inducted in the club namely Major Jennifer McKenzie of the Jamaica Defence Force; PetaGay Thompson, Bursar at the Norman Gardens Primary School and Deveroy Jomie, CEO Jonadevs Elite Gifts Services Co Ltd.

Among the sponsors of the event were: Exquisitely Taylored; PTG Electrical; JoanLatty Realty Limited; Melissa Anderson and Nupak. Members of the Vocational Services Awards Committee were: Club Immediate Past President Joan Latty-Sterling, Chair; Rotarian Latoya Westwood Black; Club Fundraising Chair, Jacque Daley and Honorary Rotarian Patricia Taylor.
