Finga Quenga says Thank You Fada
Fast-rising dancehall artiste Finga Quenga continues to service his intention to maintain notable presence among trending dancehall acts with his new single Thank You Fada.
The artiste expresses that his latest offering will add an introspective element to his diverse discography.
“It’s about thanking [the Father] for what He has done for me, not only me alone, but other people can relate to it as well,” the deejay told the
Jamaica Observer, adding that the new single is “a positive song, and the younger people can relate to it”.
Though confident that the quality in the content of the lyrics should help the single garner positive reception among dancehall fans, Finga Quenga stopped short of offering any definitive prediction or possible outcomes.
“I can’t answer that. Everyone will have their own opinions, but I expect good reactions, because it’s a world song.”
The 20-some-year-old’s body of work is progressively accumulating streams across multiple platforms with his newly release,
Thank You Fada, furthering his rotation tally.
On the single, the deejay manages to craftily merge unbothered assurance with the grace of humility.
The Spanish Town-bred artiste has been steadily commanding attention among dancehall faithfuls with a slew of releases over the past two years, which include recognisible singles such as
Better Days, Bingo Wi Bingo, Code Up E Client, and
Cheers.
The dancehall up-and-comer cites Skillibeng as a musical influence and an artiste he would like to collaborate with in the future. Regarding his agenda for 2024, the deejay hopes to “drop hit songs, not just hit songs, but good songs for the people, worldwide”.
“My fans can look out for my six-track EP, this year…[a collaboration with] Finga Quenga, Fully Bad and 10tik video coming soon, as well as [a] song titled
Dream.”
The artiste also recounted that a video for the 9Mile Records and Puffy Don Music-produced
Thank you Fada was also released in January. He said the 9MileVisualz video was shot at Church on the Rock and an undisclosed studio location, and he described it as “something different”.
