Xinxee eyes international music scene
Dancehall artiste Xinxee is determined to become a force to be reckoned with on the international music scene.
“I am currently focused on dancehall and reggae music, but my versatility as an artiste has allowed me to master other genres including pop and country. In the future I plan to explore these genres and cross over into the international market with my music,” said the artiste.
The vivacious singer, who lists Beres Hammond, Cocoa Tea, Dolly Porton, Kenny Rogers, and Beyonce among her musical influences, is confident that one day she will win a Grammy.
“I see myself winning a Grammy award in the next 10 years, but first I have become a household name in Jamaican music. After I have achieved this goal I will turn my focus to the international music scene. I have everything planned out and my team and I are fully committed to making this happen,” said Xinxee.
She is currently promoting her debut single, Lights Out, which was released by Tesha G Records in December.
“I began recording in 2011 and since then I’ve recorded several songs, but this is my first official release. I’m very grateful that Tesha G Records for recognising my talent and helping me launch my recording career,” the artiste said.
Xinxee, given name Soffea Rockay Richards, was born in St James and grew up in Kingston.
She is an electrocardiogram technician.
