Flawless Victory EP dethrones Bob from #1 on iTunes
On Friday, March 1, the six-track EP titled Flawless Victory dethroned Legend by Bob Marley and the Wailers from the #1 spot on the US iTunes Reggae Albums chart.
The project was co-produced by KillaImij Records, TOK’s Bay-C and recording artiste Xyclone.
The project was released on March 1.
Sheldon ‘KillaImij’ Thaxter of KillaImij Records, is quite pleased with the debut of the project.
“It’s a tremendous feeling, especially in a time where Bob Marley’s movie is breaking all sorts of records. To put out good quality music and to see it take Bob from the #1 spot, shows that he taught us well and to be as great as he is musically,” said KillaImij.
The producer said the project took almost five months to complete.
“We started back in October last year. We spent about two nights recording the songs and the rest of the time was just mixing the songs and complete music videos,” KillaImij disclosed.
Interestingly, all the tracks from the EP also charted on the US iTunes Reggae Singles chart.
The title track Flawless Victory by Bay-C and Xyclone debuted at #4, while Wull Heap by Zagga, Bay-C and Xyclone was #12.
Get Inna The Groove by Dee Master, Bay-C and Xyclone debuted at #10, while Tight by Shellchapo, which was produced by KillaImij Records, entered at #9.
The interlude Bobbysox876 opened at #5, while Drip by Epik Jones, Bay-C and Xyclone rose to #3.
In just a few years of its existence, KillaImij Records has been making waves on the local music scene. Last year, the label’s Buzzer Riddim Album launched at #1 on the iTunes chart and ranks as the label’s best-selling project to date. It also debuted at #3 on the sales-driven Luminate Reggae Albums chart in the US.
“KillaImij Records is bringing authenticity, originality and dedication to the game. We have several other projects to be released over the next few months including collaborations with Jahvillani and Breeze Genah, I-Octane, Rygin King, Munga Honorable and others,” said KillaImij.
