SheSecures Jamaica competition targets girls
YOUNG woman 16 years and older who are residing in Jamaica are being encouraged to enter the national cybersecurity competition – SheSecures Jamaica.
Being organised by the Ministry of National Security in collaboration with the Organization of American States (OAS), the competition is targeting young women who have a keen interest in information technology and/or cybersecurity.
This virtual event is scheduled to take place from March 20 to 24 on an OAS-supported platform and will be self-paced over the three-day period.
In a bulletin issued by the Ministry of Education and Youth, it participants will utilise the cybersecurity learning platform Hackrocks to access information and practise challenges in anticipation of the competition.
There will be eight challenges, encompassing topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Cryptography, Web Hacking and Forensic Analysis.
Participants who lack prior knowledge of these subjects can request hints to assist them in completing the challenges.
The competition manual will be available on the SheSecures Jamaica website.

Participating in the SheSecures Jamaica competition will offer all contestants an opportunity to access a worldwide network of recognised cybersecurity professionals, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and mentorship opportunities.
