Women’s 4×4 relay team, Megan Tapper make progress at World Indoors
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Women’s 4x400m relay team and sprint hurdler Megan Tapper made progress on Sunday’s third day of the World Athletics Indoor Championships at the Glasgow Arena in Scotland.
Andrenette Knight ran a brilliant second leg to lead Jamaica to second place in their first-round heat in 3:27.35 seconds as they continued the defence of their title won two years ago.
Junelle Bromfield ran the lead leg with Charokee Young and Leah Anderson also taking part.
Tapper was third in her first round heat in 8.05 seconds, behind France’s Cyrena Samba-Mayela – 7.81 seconds and Great Britain’s Cindy Sember – 7.89 seconds.
Three times World Indoor medallist Kimberly Williams finished seventh in the women’s triple jump with a best mark of 14.07m, her season’s best, as Thea Lafond of Dominica won her first global gold medal with a world-leading and personal best of 15.01m.
