THE American International School of Kingston (AISK) celebrated the 12th staging of their annual, six-a-side, inter-Caribbean football event SoccerFeva, at the AISK football field on March 1 and 2.

At the end of the two-day tournament Hillel ‘A’ clinched the top spot in the boys’ category, securing the cup, while the Lyford Cay International School (The Bahamas) team claimed the Shield Trophy. In the girls’ division, Cayman International School emerged victorious, winning the cup, while AISK triumphed to capture the shield.

The highly anticipated invitational witnessed the participation of over 190 student players, aged 13-19, from five Caribbean islands, along with local schools Immaculate Conception High School, Hillel Academy, and hosts AISK.

“We were again thrilled to have welcomed schools and teams from various Caribbean nations to SoccerFeva 2024,” Acting Head of Athletics Dexter McFarlane said. “It not only fosters healthy competition and the identification of soccer talent but also promotes cultural exchange and lifelong friendships among youth in the region.”

“SoccerFeva embodies the spirit of unity and collaboration, bringing together talented young athletes to showcase their skills and celebrate the power of sports,” added Head of School Susan Canobie.

Participating teams included Cayman International School (Cayman Islands), Lyford Cay International School and Lucaya International School (The Bahamas), Cedar International School in the British Virgin Islands (British Virgin Islands), Georgetown International Academy (Guyana), and The International School of Port of Spain (Trinidad & Tobago).

With the support of sponsors ADA Manufacturing, B&J Equipment, Wisynco, KFC, Cool Oasis, Glastonbury, and Levy Cheeks and Associates, the tournament continues to provide a platform for aspiring football talents to shine.

Since its inception SoccerFeva has become a highly anticipated sporting event in the region, attracting talented young athletes and enthusiastic supporters.
