M2 Creative delivering ‘miracles on demand’

Boutique advertising and marketing agency M Squared Creative Studios Ltd (M2 Creative) has for over a decade operated as a standout in the market, priding itself as an idea factory, delivering ‘miracles on demand’, as it creates innovative approaches to get the unique message of clients across to a wide audience.

The near 14-year-old company founded by two Mikes, Michael Kelly and Michael Robinson (hence M Squared), offers a wide range of services including graphic designs, copywriting, social media marketing, communications, TV and radio production among several others.

“Known for our creativity and quick turnaround times, we live up to our motto, ‘Miracles on Demand’— a challenge our clients love to present us with. Our diverse client roster, mainly strong in the financial sector, speaks to our adaptability and enduring partnerships. With many of our clients having been with us since our inception, this too serves as testament of us delivering miracles on demand,” shared Kelly, managing and creative director of M2 Creative.

“Our boutique nature ensures every client receives dedicated attention, setting us apart in a market where loyalty is hard-won,” he said in further outlining the ethos of the company to the Jamaica Observer.

Having crafted a number of advertisement and social media campaigns for a growing list of large companies, the company now names among its clientèle: The JMMB Group, MultiLink through owners JETS Ltd, EduCom Credit Union, Apex Radiology, National Supply Ltd, Chemical & Construction International (CCI), Salada, Musson Group as well as several other seasonal clients — all of which it has worked with on various projects across the years.

Keen on taking the business to new heights, Kelly, after buying out Robinson’s stake in the business some three years after start-up, has since then sought to independently reshape its future — an objective he has to date successfully managed to accomplish.

The company, which has been transitioned into a full-fledged family owned business, is now an operation ably supported by his wife Tana Kelly, director of operations; brother Johnathon Kelly, client & content manager, mother and company secretary Pamela Kelly, all of whom, along with a few other persons, make up a small but tallawah and dynamic staff complement of seven.

“I [Mike Kelly] credit my late father, Vin Kelly, for my love of advertising and knowledge of the fundamentals. I worked for his advertising agency, PKC Advertising, for many years and learned to do everything he and each employee did from the ground up. I also have much love and respect for the late Arnold Foote Sr of Admark Advertising and Sebastian Ogden from Whistling Frog, who I also learned much from,” he further said of some additional influences on the business.

The small firm founded on a solid history and now backed by steady revenues, dedicated clients and an impressive catalogue, the creative director said is even more bullish on bringing increased services to market as it continues to attract new clients while meeting the needs and demands of each customer.

The digitally operated firm, which is now looking to again operate from a physical space, following the closure of its offices during the pandemic, is also now more focused on strategically planning for the necessary adjustments needed to sustain its growth while maintaining that competitive market edge.

“We’ve navigated the departure of a co-founder, cash flow management, and unexpected events like COVID-19 with resilience and adaptability. These experiences have only strengthened our resolve and operational efficiency. While we’re proud of our international Telly awards and Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) annual report design-winning accolades, our most significant achievement is our sustained presence and growth in a competitive market,” the directors noted.

“Looking ahead, we are gearing up for dynamic expansion, embracing content creation for digital platforms, and enhancing client collaboration in our new office space. We’re poised not just to adapt but to lead in the evolving advertising and content creation landscape,” Kelly further said of the outlook harbouring high anticipation for the celebration of the company’s 15th year of operation in 2025.
