#Champs2024: KC eyes big points in Class 1 boys’ 400m final
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Kingston College is hoping to earn a maximum of 16 points in the Class 1 boys’ 400m final after event favourites Marcinho Rose and Amal Glasgow comfortably secured their spots at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Rose was the only qualifier under 47 seconds, having run 46.93 to win semi-final two. Alphansus Davis’ Daniel Francis (48.38) also advanced.
Glasgow won semi-final one in 47.47 seconds, ahead of Edwin Allen’s Ryeem Mighten (48.76).
Jamaica College’s Omary Robinson (47.60), Maggotty High’s Zachary Wallace (47.92), Lushane Blake of St Elizabeth Technical (48.39) and Vere Technical’s Omar James (48.58) advanced from semi-final three.
The final of the Class 1 boys’ 400m is scheduled for Thursday at 8:03 pm.
