#Champs2024: Final set for Class 2 boys’ shot put
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Munro College’s Jovontae Smith was the only competitor to throw over 16.00m to advance to Thursday’s final of the Class 2 boys’ shot put at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships on Thursday.
Smith produced a throw of 16.94m, way over the qualification mark of 15.99m.
Sydney Pagon’s Dwight Fraser (15.42) and Joshua Wright (15.09), also of Munro College registered marks over 15.00m.
Rounding out the 12 finalists are: Clarendon College’s Joshua Solomon (14.97) and Lawayne Blackwood (14.21); Kahleel Henry (14.87) and Kamari Kennedy (14.48) of Calabar High; St Mary High’s Nkosona Johnson (14.67); Kingston College’s Kahjay Lawes (14.02); Vere Technical’s Christopher Orridge (13.94); Demario Dixon of Jamaica College (13.14) and Clinton Baker of Edwin Allen High (12.95).
The final of Class 2 boys’ shot put is set for 6:57pm.
