The Faith of Zoom

The Faith of Zoom

Love filled the air on November 11, 2023, as Nordia Kitson and Stefano Nembhard, both Jamaicans living in New York, embarked on their marriage journey together in a breathtaking ceremony at the scenic Jam Villa Resort in Ocho Rios, witnessed by close friends and family. The picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for their union, with every detail meticulously planned. The ceremony was officiated by Bishop Desmond Williams and Bishop Austin Wright.

The couple’s love story is one of divine intervention and unwavering faith and began when Stefano, captivated by Nordia’s presence during their church’s
Zoom services, immediately sought the blessing of Nordia’s pastor to pursue her. After patiently waiting, and guided by his conviction that Nordia was destined to be his wife, Stefano’s persistence was rewarded. A delighted Nordia shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV), “Stefano and I are both Christians. He reached out to my pastor about me after he saw me on
Zoom
where we had church service every Sunday. When he reached out to my pastor about me, my pastor didn’t respond immediately because he wanted to see the type of person Stefano was, as well as his intentions.”

“After a year of waiting and almost giving up, assuming that he wouldn’t get a response from my pastor he sought advice from his brother, Mark,” Nordia explained. “Mark assured him that God intended for me to be his wife and so he waited a year and a half for an answer, which he eventually got from my pastor.” The couple’s relationship blossomed with their shared faith, culminating in a heartfelt proposal and a joyous engagement celebration.

The nuptials

Nordia’s gown, a stunning creation from Fjolla Haxhismajli in France, radiated her style as she made her way up the aisle to
Why I Love You by Major Johnson Finley. Stefano exuded timeless sophistication in a classic suit from New York as he stood at the altar. Surrounded by their bridal party, including Nordia’s sister Nicola Kelly, and dear friends Akilah West and Nikeisha Umhra, the couple exchanged vows.

Following the ceremony, guests were ushered to the reception, where a Grand Gala theme unfolded in all its splendour. The vibrant colours of fuchsia pink and red adorned the venue, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy curated by Future Events Ja. Tiers of Sweetness Ja provided a three-tiered vanilla fruitcake while Jam Villa Resort ensured a seamless catering experience.

As the evening deepened, the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance as newly-weds, to
Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh, a poignant moment that captured the essence of their love. Guests danced the night away to music curated by DJ Kofie876.

The newly-weds honeymooned at Grand Bahia Principe.
