NEW YORK, United States — People visit Terrapin Point on the day ahead of the eclipse on April 7, 2024, in Niagara Falls, New York. Millions of people have flocked to areas across North America that are in the “path of totality” in order to experience the total solar eclipse on April 8. During the event the Moon will pass in-between the Sun and the Earth, appearing to block the Sun. (Photo: AFP)

‘Like a thief’, He said
Dear Editor,
Why would Jesus’s return be so obvious to the human eyes when he said he would appear like a thief in the night?
Does a thief announce his arrival or give prior notice that he may be seen at sunrise?
If science is able to determine the time of an eclipse, wouldn’t that calculation fall outside the circle of a surprise?
Perhaps he has already returned, but like the truth, is hiding in the light or too commonplace for the world to notice. This would explain what he meant by coming like a thief, or as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be with the coming of the Son of man.
Our focus on spectacular events may actually eclipse the true sign of His coming.
