Trainer Oral Hayden double up with Talona, and Bad Investment
Trainer Oral Hayden maintained his promising start in 2024 when he saddled two winners, Talona and Bad Investment, on Saturday’s nine-race card, registering his sixth overall victory in 2024.
Talona made one move to win the third event, a native-bred five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of four) and imported five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) going 5 furlongs round.
It was a different tactic for Bad Investment as the four-year-old bay colt came from behind horses to win the sixth event, a maiden condition race for native-bred four-year-olds and upward at 5 furlongs straight.
With Youville Pinnock in the saddle aboard the speedy Talona, the five-year-old dark bay mare easily won her race by 4 ¼ lengths in a time of 1:01.3 (23.0 x 47.0).
Talona won ahead of Traditional Lady (Jerome Innis) and Jaguar (Robert Halledeen).
Bad Investment, ridden by Robert Halledeen, got up in the final stage of the contest to beat
Benson (Romario Spencer) by a length and half in a time of 1:02.3 (24.1 x 47.2).
Sir Wong Don, the mount of Natalie Berger, finished third.
