Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration getting a global model

Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration getting a global model

The Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration model, initially launched in China, is coming to other markets soon.

The model is getting a global variant and it isn’t just about aesthetics. It boasts a special design that pays homage to space exploration.

While details remain unconfirmed, the renders suggest a two-toned red and black bezel, possibly reflecting the colours of rockets or spaceships.

This special edition watch also packs some exciting features. It might come with eSIM functionality, allowing calls and texts directly from your wrist; no smartphone needed. Additionally, reports suggest UWB (Ultra-Wideband) connectivity, improving location tracking and data transfer over short distances.

Beyond these headline features, the Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration Edition is expected to inherit the core strengths of the regular Huawei Watch 4 Pro. This includes a large and vibrant 1.5-inch AMOLED display, perfect for viewing notifications and fitness data.

Durability won’t be a concern either, thanks to the expected 5 ATM water resistance rating. Plus, with a rumoured battery life of up to 21 days on a single charge, you can explore for weeks on end without needing to constantly search for a charger.

Huawei hasn’t officially confirmed pricing yet, but considering the China launch price of 4,999 yuan (roughly US$690), this positions the smartwatch as a high-end offering.

With its unique design, potential feature set, and powerful core functionalities, the Huawei Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration Edition is poised to be a compelling option for smartwatch enthusiasts. Whether you’re a space fanatic or a tech-lover seeking a feature-packed wearable, this upcoming release is definitely worth watching.

The Watch 4 Pro Space Exploration Edition features a two-toned design with a red and black bezel, achieved through a special heating process. It’s built to last, with a high-tech ceramic bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire glass cover. In addition to its looks, this edition features UWB (Ultra-Wideband) connectivity, allowing touchless control of compatible electric vehicles. Other features include eSIM functionality for making calls without a smartphone.

It has a 1.5-inch AMOLED LTPO colour screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. The side button supports various functions, including long and short presses, while the upper button doubles as a rotating crown. It supports wireless charging and works with devices running HarmonyOS 2.0 and above, Android 8.0 and above, and iOS 13.0 and above.

It comes with a water resistance rating of 5 ATM, which means that you don’t need to take it off while swimming. It offers up to 4.5 days of regular use and can extend battery life up to 12 days in regular use and 21 days in maximum use.
