BYD is set to elevate the automotive landscape by diversifying its model line-up with the new Song Plus DM-i — its first plug-in hybrid model — in June.

With its striking, ocean-aesthetic design and impressive performance capabilities, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model promises to thrill drivers across the island. Its super-hybrid technology boasts a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder combustion engine and an 18.3 kWh BYD Blade Battery that pumps out up to 109 HP. Its electric motor also boasts a maximum power of 177 HP, achieving an impressive combined range of over 1,100 kilometres, with a fuel consumption of just 4.4 litres per 100 kilometres.

“The Song Plus DM-iheralds a new era of driving in Jamaica. As the first plug-in hybrid to our electric line-up it offers drivers who may not be ready to take the plunge into a full EV the ease of mind of having the backup of an engine while still reducing fuel emissions,” said Courtney Smith, sales manager, BYD Kingston.

The Song Plus DM-i is also equipped with an intelligent cockpit and a cleverly-designed cabin offering ample space for relaxation and comfort. There are also functions like vehicle-to-load, enhancing the joy of long-distance travel, while setting a new standard for eco-friendly mobility and several user-friendly technologies, including a 15.6-inch intelligent rotating screen, and an Infinity Deluxe audio system.

The Song Plus DM-i also debuts ultimate safety features such as an intelligent driving system, heads-up display, intelligent cruise control, and lane-keep assist. A 360-degree panoramic camera eliminates blind spots providing a clear view of the driver’s surroundings with just a glance.

The Song Plus DM-i is also designed with a high-strength steel body structure, enhancing impact resistance comprehensively.
