Fontana Pharmacy celebrated 55 years with a long-service award gala on May 23, 2024, at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel.

The event honoured those who have been part of the Fontana family for five years and more.

The gala began with a warm welcome from Fontana Pharmacy directors who emphasised the vital role that long-serving staff members play in the company’s continued success and growth.

A highlight of the evening was the special recognition of the ‘Golden Girls’ of Fontana Pharmacy: Ruthlyn Sherwood, serving 54 years; Pat Forbes, serving 49 years; and Faye Plunkett, serving 52 years. The women were honoured for their exceptional service and unwavering commitment and hard work.

The event saw over 400 attendees — staff members from all seven Fontana Pharmacy locations: Barbican, Waterloo, Ocho Rios, Savanna-la-Mar, Montego Bay, Mandeville, and Portmore — uniting to mark a significant milestone in the company’s history.

Reggae artiste Agent Sasco made it a night to remember with a performance of his hits.

Awards were distributed to over 200 staff members who have been with Fontana Pharmacy for five to 54 years, recognising their loyalty and hard work. Each awardee received a commemorative plaque and special gifts as a token of the company’s appreciation.
