Gray in Reggae Boyz starting lineup vs Mexico in Copa America opener

Winger Demarai Gray been named in the Reggae Boyz starting team as they open their account in the Copa America against Concacaf rivals Mexico at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Saturday.

Gray, who plays his club football in Saudi Arabia, had missed the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers against the Dominican Republic and Dominica due to a broken collar bone but was named in the team by head coach Hemier Hallgrimsson.

Shamar Nicholson, who scored in both World Cup qualifiers, retained his starting place as well as Bobby Reid and goalkeeper Jamali Waite.

There was no place for Damion Lowe and Renaldo Cephas, the latter having impressed in the World Cup qualifying games.

Starting team: Jamali Waite, Greg Leigh, Dexter Lembikisa, D’shon Bernard, Ethan Pinnock, Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby Reid, Kasey Palmer, Michail Antonio, Demarai Gray, Shamar Nicholson
