Reggae artiste Nation Boss, who three years ago scored a massive hit with Humans, is hoping to score another hit with his latest single Learning Process.

The track, which was released in May, was produced by Active Music.

The song has been getting attention at radio and the official video has racked up more than 238,000 views on YouTube.

Producer Christopher Coombs is the man behind the Active Music label. He credits Nation Boss for composing a song that will connect with music lovers.

“Nation Boss is a dream artiste to work with. Mi like the reggae side of the music. Once I got the beat and I was vibing to it it gave me a Nation Boss vibe. So I got in contact with him and it was a joy working with him. Music is about energy, and he gave me the energy,” Coombs said in an interview with the
Jamaica Observer.

He added: “Nation Boss sings from the heart, so working with him is always a great vibe because he does not have to search for music and he listens. I am very excited about this project because I know it has the potential to become another major hit for both of us.”

Active Music has been making its presence felt locally with a string of releases from various artistes.

The first song that the label produced became its first hit song, Cream of the Crop by Jahshii and Navaz. He also produced the hit song
Crook by Malie Donn.

“I never expected Cream of the Crop to have become the hit song that it became. From the first time that the song was recorded I knew it was special, but what it became I never expected it to have become so huge,” Coombs reasoned.

Jah Frass, Skeng, Ai Milly, Deep Jahi, Stacious, and Pablo YG are some of the acts that the Grant’s Pen-based label has worked with.

“Music was something that I had to get involved in. Just the area that I am from, a lot of artistes have come from the community over the years. My little brother is also an artiste, I grew up around music, and I was on a sound system called Pepper System. I chose music production because I have an understanding of the music,” said Coombs.

He said the journey has not been enturely easy one.

“Mi nah go say it was hard. Mi put mi mind to it; no matter the setback because we could get inna other tings, but music was the goal.”

He also shared that the label has distinguished itself by working from the ground up with up-and-coming acts.

“We [Active Music] bring a different vibe. We like to start from the ground with the artistes and build careers. Their potential is enormous,” said Coombs.
