Ride Natty Ride breaks maiden in impressive style
ON Saturday, June 29, 2024 three-year-old chestnut colt Ride Natty Ride
found his way to the winner’s circle, taking the top spot in a native-bred three-year-old call going five furlongs straight.
Trained by Dale Murphy and expertly ridden by champion jockey Reyan Lewis,
Ride Natty Ride dominated the race, crossing the finishing line in an impressive 5¾ lengths ahead of rivals. The colt, sired by Hedge Fund and out of She is Calling, won in a time of 1:01.1.
Running with blinkers on and the figure 8 off, Ride Natty Ride easily assumed the lead shortly after the break. On a merry clip, Ride Natty Ride held the lead ahead of Small Boss (Shane Richardson), Yorkist (Tevin Foster), and Gelroy (Marshall Porter).
Coming across the dummy rails, Ride Natty Ride continued to blaze the trail and eventually went on to win easily ahead of Gelroy and Small Boss.
