Money Monster, Fred The Great, Sistren Treasure top contenders for Bigman In Town Trophy

The Bigman In Town Trophy, an Overnight Allowance event, takes centre stage on tomorrow’s 10-race card, featuring 13 talented runners vying for a share of the $1.25-million purse.

The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide provides in-depth analysis of each contender’s chances.

1. FREEDOM STREET: (5 b g by Uncaptured – Nofashionsense) – Despite six starts this season, Freedom Street remains winless, and a breakthrough victory seems unlikely in this event.

2.MONEY MONSTER: (7 b g by Casual Trick – She’s Traditional
) – Returns to competitive racing from a 97-day hiatus.
Money Monster last raced on April 14 over 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight where he finished fourth by 5 ½ lengths behind Taurus Boy and KP Choice.
Money Monster is better suited for distance races and could deliver a strong performance here.

3. ATLANTIC CONVOY (CAN): (4 ch c by Storm Atlantic – My Sweet Emily
) – Following a fifth-place finish over 6 ½ furlongs (1,300m) on July 7, Atlantic Convoy is expected to improve with the increased distance, making him a contender to watch.

4. REGAL AND ROYAL: (6 b h by Soul Warrior – Wap) – Unfortunately,
Regal and Royal appears to be out of his league in this event, with little chance of securing a win.

5. JOHNCROWJEFF (6 b g by Natural Selection – Sweetyourock) – Unfortunately, Johncrowjeff is unlikely to make an impact in this race and can be safely disregarded.

6. NOMOREDEALS (5 ch h by Soul Warrior – Thornhill Miss) – Nomoredeals appears to be outclassed in this event and is likely to struggle to keep up with the competition.

7. ANIKA BELLE (5 b m by Nasheet – Souffler) – Anika Belle has done remarkably well to reach this level, but a winning performance seems unlikely.

8. FRED THE GREAT (USA): (4 b c by Adios Charlie – Joyance) – Fred The Great impressed with a come-from-behind victory in the Hubert Bartley Memorial Trophy over 7 furlongs (1,400m) on June 29, edging out Provocativa on the line. Based on that performance, he appears well-suited to handle the distance and has a strong chance of securing his second-consecutive win.

9. FEARLESS SOUL (4 ch c by Soul Warrior – Rumble) – Fearless Soul has yet to make a significant impact at this level and is unlikely to be a major contender in this race.

10. RANI BANGALA (5 b m by Savoy Stomp – Palace Gold) – Rani Bangala has been struggling to find her form lately, and it’s unlikely that she’ll turn things around in this event. Note that she’ll be racing without a visor.

11. D HEAD CORNERSTONE (5 b h by Bern Identity – Soul of the Heart) – Following a solid fifth-place finish behind Neo Star on July 8, D Head Cornerstone appears well-suited to compete at this level and has a good chance of securing a share of the purse.

12.HERIONE (5 ch m by Soul Warrior – Rack Away) – Herione has qualified to run at this level, but her chances of winning appear slim.

13. SISTREN TREASURE (USA) (4 b f by Brethren – Katira) – After finishing third behind Neo Star on July 8, Sistren Treasure is expected to deliver another strong performance and is likely to be a contender in this race.

Money Monster.
