Armanii makes Sumfest debut
MONTEGO BAY, St James— Armanii, one of dancehall’s new favourites, made his Sumfest debut on Friday night as the widely attended stage show got underway inside Catherine Hall.
The singer whose given name is Armanii Moodie told the enthusiastic crowd that he made a vow to himself last year while attending the popular show as a patron that he would be among the 2024 acts.
“Mi seh to miself, mi haffi deh pon da stage yah next year… nuh matter how much fight yah get inna life… no weapon formed against you shall prosper,” he declared.
He had the crowd moving with hits like Dunce Barbie, How You Feel, and his summer jam HAAD (Fiesta). The latter, a DJ Mac/Crash Dummy production, has scaled several charts locally and regionally.
Earlier in the night, other first timers such as J’Quan, Ayetian and Soun Bwoii hit the stage.
