From the halls of St Alban’s Primary School to the runway, British-Jamaican designer and Tribe Nine CEO/Creative Director Troy Oraine Williamson’s interplay between uniforms and fashion reveals a captivating history.

Inspired by Williamson’s formative years at St Alban’s Primary School, Denham Town, the capsule collection reimagines the iconic khaki school uniform while maintaining Williamson’s utilitarian design ethos. His signature overalls, utility vests, and bucket hats — a standout from his Horizon Collection — have been revamped, and joins genderless culottes, shorts, and a double-breasted blazer meticulously crafted in khaki, and an inspired camo print at his Kingston atelier.

“My intention was to reclaim the narrative around the khaki to move it from the mundane eg schoolboy/labourer attire to stylish streetwear,” Williamson tells Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF).
