A former protégé of dancehall artiste Capleton, Munga Honorable rose to stardom in the mid-2000s under the guidance of producer Donovan “Don Corleon” Bennett.

Having trampled the music scene with hits such as Earthquake, Bad From Mi Born, Fiery, Mad Ova No Gal, Flippinz Rhymes, and In My Arms, Munga Honorable continues to be a force to be reckoned with in music circles.

The self-styled Gangsta Ras has been working on his second EP, the first since his 2019 effort Fiery.

“All the recordings have been completed and we’re now tweaking things. The title of the project is G.R.E.A.T which is an acronym for Gangsta Ras Entrepreneur Artiste Talented,” Munga Honorable told the Jamaica Observer on Thursday.

The 13-track project, which is scheduled for an early fall release, has songs for everyone.

“Each track on the EP speaks for a different situation and carries different sounds and tempo. Each represents dancehall, reggae, and Munga,” he said.

“[M]usically I have grown from my previous project. As a producer, I have taken on more involvement in the tracks. I hope to get at least two to three hit songs from this project,” he added.

Last week, Munga Honorable performed at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay on Dancehall Night. It was his first time performing at the event in five years.

Munga Honorable reportedly delivered a performance that will be etched in the memories of attendees for a long time. According to reports, the energetic and charismatic entertainer delivered a flawless set, seamlessly blending his signature rapid-fire flow with infectious hooks and melodies.

During his performance he brought out a few surprise guests, among them Natural Flamez and Rising Son from his Hilltop Records ensemble, adding an extra layer of excitement to his set.
