Soldier found dead in motor vehicle
THE Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has confirmed that one of its service members was found dead in a motor vehicle on the Palisadoes main road in Kingston on Tuesday.
He was identified as Corporal Sekou Medder.
“The matter is currently being investigated by the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the JDF will cooperate and assist the investigators as required,” said a JDF release.
“The Chaplaincy and Welfare Department is providing counselling and support services to the soldier’s family and the battalion to which he was attached,” the army said, while offering its sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones.
“We urge the media and the public to respect the privacy of the family and our service members as we navigate through this sensitive situation,” said the JDF.
