St Mary cops laud their own
HIGHGATE, St Mary — The hard work put in by more than 29 cops, three auxiliary workers, and three stakeholders in St Mary was recently highlighted with a slew of awards and cash handed out during an event held under the theme of ‘Working together in partnership with stakeholders for a better society’.
The lawmen were recognised in categories, including most warrants issued, most improved, most reliable, best all-rounder, most warrants executed, most arrests, best supervisory constable, best supervisory corporal, community based policing, outstanding performance, long service, and leadership.
Each awardee received a certification of appreciation and a cash award of $5,000.
Himself an awardee, Dr Nagendrababu Chadolu of the Ashish Foundation had high praise for the police.
“As a doctor I have seen a lot of police officers who have come into my office for fatigue and chronic illness. I know as civil servants there is less time spent with families and it can be stressful,” he said during the event held on July 31.
Dr Chadolu commended the cops for what he described as their invaluable work.
Event attendees included Member of Parliament for St Mary Central Dr Morais Guy; superintendent of police in charge of St Mary Bobette Morgan-Simpson; and principal of St Mary High School Jullett Frazer-Sadaar, who was the guest speaker.
