Best Weekend Ever thrills revellers with eclectic entertainment package

Ocho Rios and its environs were lit over ‘Emancipendence’ as the Best Weekend Ever took centrestage, bringing thousands of revellers to the north coast for several days of eclectic entertainment in a high-spirited atmosphere.

Patrons basked in the offerings of events.

Having experienced four of the seven parties at the time, one patron, Trevor Lester, in an interview with the Jamaica Observer at Milk and Honey at Plantation Cove last Saturday night, described his experience as seamless and premium.

Trevor Lester, pictured here at the Milk and Honey event, was among the thousands of revellers who ventured to the north coast for the Best Weekend Ever party series.

“It is always an experience and I’ve been enjoying the weekend so far. I’m just looking forward to what the other events has in store,” said Lester

Lasana Wilson, the junior brand manager for Casamigos, Johnnie Walker, Don Julio and Smirnoff, two-time sponsor of the weekend series, stated that it was no surprise that patrons enjoyed the experience, as his team has taken pride in ensuring revellers get an unforgettable experience.

“Best Weekend Ever is a great experience and to be a part of the weekend is amazing. This is the series that people look forward to because they have a diverse pool of entertainment,” said Wilson.

He also noted that his team will be definitely be partnering with directors of BWE in the future.

“We are looking forward to working with Best Weekend Ever for upcoming party series, you just can’t have Best Weekend Ever without the best spirit brands,” said Wilson

The Best Weekend Ever comprised the parties: I Love Soca Cooler Festival (August 2), featuring performances from Preedy and Pumpa at Plantation Cove; Daybreak and Milk and Honey on August 3, also at Plantation Cove; Zimi Seh Beach at Puerto Seco Beach on August 4; the newest event on the lineup, Rise and Toast—Miami’s best Caribbean Brunch Event; Allure, at Pearly Beach on August 5; and Late Check Out at Plantation Cove on August 5.

This patron turned on the style at Milk and Honey on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

This year marked the third staging of Best Weekend Ever. Director of the party series, Dwayne Dacres said his team is pleased with the recognition the event has been receiving.

“This is our third year and we realise that patrons love it,” said Dacres.

Noting that the BWE team is focused on elevating the experience each year, he added: “We aim to raise the bar every year for best weekend and so our focus is always on creating a great experience for our patrons.”
