The ring calls for Gore and Summerbell

Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell will continue their challenge of the ADAC GT4 Germany championship at the Nurburgring, Germany, this weekend in a new car and team.

The two young circuit racing stars entered the ADAC GT4 Germany Championship this season driving an Audi R8 GT4 for their former team. However, according to both, things didn’t work out as planned.

“We made our debut in Europe earlier this year with a lesser-known team, to put it shortly, the promises made for performance were not followed through by the team, leading us to almost withdraw from the championship,” explained Gore.

Still, their impact on the championship was enough to get them a second chance when they were approached by their current team W&S Motorsport.

“Switching teams has been amazing. The Audi R8 was a good car, but we didn’t have the right team behind it. The Porsche team, however, is absolutely incredible. They have staff that can help us improve in all areas as drivers,” said Summerbell.

The new deal with W&S Motorsport sees them racing a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport for the remainder of the championship season.

“In some ways they’re similar cars — both mid-engined, naturally aspirated, rear-wheel drive cars. The Porsche uses the engine from the 911 GT3, a 4-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, but the series has what’s known as BoP (balance of performance) that keeps the many different cars racing relatively equal,” said Gore.

The pair expect better results this weekend with W&S Motorsport.

“The new team is fantastic; definitely the best team I’ve ever worked with. With this team Tommi and I are going to perform much better,” said Summerbell told the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.
