Twin-engine plane crashes at Tinson Pen
A Piper Aztec 34 aircraft crashed at the Tinson Pen Aerodrome in Kingston on Thursday when it overshot the runway, ended in a verge, and flipped over.
Two men — the pilot and a passenger — who were aboard the plane were taken to hospital to undergo medical checks.
The twin-engine aircraft, which was travelling from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, reportedly developed problems when the pilot was attempting to land.
Daryl Vaz, the minister of transport, said on Thursday that the crash was a “mishap” and that the public could expect to hear from the Airports Authority of Jamaica with a full statement on the incident in due course.
