Page 2 brings more memorable moments from the 70th birthday celebration of Sonia’s Homestyle principal Sonia Thomas at the Sunken Gardens in Hope Gardens on Wednesday, August 14. The night’s most touching moment came when Thomas explained the significance of each rose given to her by her loved ones, expressing her desire to receive flowers while she could still cherish them.

The evening was filled with stellar entertainment, featuring performances by musician Dwight Richards, veteran reggae singer Nadine Sutherland, performer DiMario McDowell, violinist Gabrielle Clarke-Bailey, and juggling by DJ Courtney who all contributed to the celebratory atmosphere.

The event planning, décor and design production were expertly handled by Luxe Event Design principal Patrice Dehaney and the birthday cakes crafted by Janeil Rose from Pastries by Jan and Jennifer Chung.

In keeping with the birthday celebrant’s culinary background, guests had their pick of menu faves from Sonia’s Homestyle, as well as Peckish-catered fare at the Jamaica Nice Eh, Straight From The Jerk Pan, A Taste of Asia, Seafood Lovers Paradise, A Taste of Italy, Feel Fi Something Nice Desserts and Lamb Station booths.
