Jamaican entrepreneur and stylista Sushana Cole isn’t the sort of girlie who needs an excuse to throw a good party! On Saturday, August 10, however, there was certainly cause for celebration as she unveiled The Experience by SC, a multi-concept boutique showroom in Houston, Texas.

The serial entrepreneur, as she calls herself, has been in business for over 14 years, launching the make-up brand The Shana Collection in Jamaica, and starting, then expanding retail stores locally.

After relocating to New York, then to Texas, Cole eventually shuttered her local business, to focus on her online boutique Soignée. As online sales saw an uptick, Cole — a stylist and certified make-up artist — toyed with revisiting a brick-and-mortar business.

“So I went to do my hair one day and realised an empty space [in the building] was available. I inquired and ended up with an application, and that’s how it started. It wasn’t planned,” Cole tells SO.

The rest, as they say, is history. Cole signed the agreement on June 4, and with the help of her brother-in-law, Anthony Williams, brought her dreams to life.

So on August 10, after an afternoon of sipping cocktails in the 485 square-foot ultra-feminine space, which boasts a swoon-worthy flower ceiling, Behr Dainty Lace-painted walls, and a plethora of signature Soignée by Shana Cole branding, creative director Sushana Cole invited guests to ‘clink in bio’ and book her services.

The Experience by SC is the place where style consulting, make-up magic, and personalised fashion experiences come to life!
