CPJs Boots, Barrel, and Bourbon @ Caymanas Park
The Saturday, September 28 staging of Boots, Barrel, and Bourbon at Caymanas Park kicked off the Trail to Mile series in grand style. Attendees enjoyed a thrilling day at the races while savouring the bold flavours of CPJ’s premium whiskey, Woodford Reserve. The event celebrated the perfect blend of high-stakes racing and fine spirits, setting the tone for the prestigious Mouttet Mile on December 7, and an exciting season at Caymanas Park.
The event was catered by Broken Plate restaurant and guests were treated to a diverse menu, featuring flavourful dishes that paired beautifully with the bold, smooth taste of Woodford Reserve Bourbon. The event was designed to offer a perfect fusion of Jamaica’s vibrant culinary scene with the timeless elegance of Kentucky’s finest bourbon.
Natesha Powell, brand manager of spirits and beverages at CPJ, shared her enthusiasm for the event: “The Mouttet Mile is all about prestige and tradition, and we wanted to kick off the ‘Trail to the Mile’ series in a way that reflects this. With Broken Plate’s outstanding catering and Woodford Reserve as the featured bourbon, we’ve set the stage for an incredible lead-up to the big race.”
Adding to the excitement, this year’s Woodford Reserve special release celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic moments in sports history — Secretariat’s legendary 1973 Kentucky Derby win. The horse’s record-breaking time of 1:59 2/5 remains unchallenged, making this anniversary edition the perfect bourbon to showcase during the Boots, Barrel, and Bourbon event.
